I'm not giving up on LJ - this has been home way too long for me to just vanish. But I did grab a DW account back when that first became a viable option, just in case, and today's downtime prompted me to do another import (it had been 2 years since I'd done that), and remind people who might be both places that I am, as well. Same username. Feel free to add me if you're over there.
I might get around to taking the time to figure out dual-posting, like many people have done...we'll see if I get inspired to deal with that soon, but my weekend alone at home has turned into a weekend of farm-sitting, so breath-holding would be a bad idea.

Also need to try and retrieve a bunch of icons I haven't had usable since my paid account here expired some very long time ago, so I can rearrange what I'm using a bit

I thought I had them figured out, but the crosspost failed, and I'm not sure if that's my being dim, or LJ acting up right now...

Probably LJ being dim, since my test-crossposts to IJ are working fine.

Fill in the info, and then you can click either 'crosspost by default' or not, and rather or not you want the crosspost links put in, and which security setting you want the crossposted stuff to go to.

And then there are a couple of other settings, after you've saved where you want to crosspost to.

Do you have any idea how happy it makes me to hear you're gonna be on DW at least some? I think I spent an hour yesterday grinning my face off.

I'm going to give up for now. I've tried three times, and I know my friends who signed up yesterday are getting cross-posting to work with no problem. It keeps saying it can't get a response from some LJ page or other.

Huh. When you've got time and energy to do it, screencap the 'post failed' page and hit up Support here: http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/submit . Or just write out what the message is saying.

They're generally really good about getting on top of crossposter errors.

haven't heard back yet. their attempt to slow the poking at LJ didn't seem to help any...
