argargarg. So, my mom, trying to be helpful, manages to send me into a complete and utter tizzy, and I can't rest until I've figured _something_ out. She mentioned that it was, in theory, possible to move me on the weekend of the 15th instead of waiting until the 30th, since she has to be in Columbus for a wedding then anyway.

So..now I have to figure out..do I want those extra two weeks here? What do I want them for? Is it worth putting up with an extra leg on my flight to Maine, and staying in StLouis for a couple of nights?

Pros to moving earlier: I get 2 extra weeks of central air, and by late June, that's a real factor (only one window unit allowed in my current apartment). I get more time to settle in before things get crazy on me, and have time to get the cats adjusted before I have to deal with things like work and auditions. Mom only has to come out here one more time, rather than two. I can go to a couple of meetings in late June that look interesting in Columbia. Maybe make some friends. Get to spend more time with my friends in Columbia that I already have. Not having to ask Bob to take care of the girls again while I'm in Maine, since mom could do it. Getting to finally have a TV/VCR again. Getting to get on with my life already. Getting to play in my new bigger apartment.

Cons:much less time to pack and clean the apartment. Having to deal with the loss of independence that Columbus represents a bit sooner (ie, here I can get to the airport on my own. there, it's 2 hours away, and will take a parental unit driving me there). Having to rush goodbyes to my few (very few) friends here (after a year, it's just pathetic how few attachments I have in this city). Leaving my wonderful apartment a little earlier (gods, I'll miss hardwood floors..). I'll miss the Indigo Girls concert here in town.

Pros to staying the extra two weeks:More time to pack and sort things and get rid of things (although let's face it, I'll probably do it all in the last couple of days anyway). More time to say goodbye to Bob (he may annoy me incredibly at times, but he's my closest friend in this city).

Cons:No central air while trying to pack and move (this is true either time, but later will, in theory, be hotter). Having to be out on a certain day of that weekend, or else.

I know I'm repeating myself by this point. Just trying to get it all down. Advice? Thoughts? Yelps to shut up and get on with it already?

It is an end of one part of your life.

I would be conflicted in your shoes - have been before. I think you might want to try the earlier time though, so long as you get along well with your mom. It means you'll be more focused on the move.
