'kay..while I have this rush of energy and am working on 15 million different projects..I have a few questions, for anyone who can answer them...

What are the legalities (rules, tax stuff, etc) for running your own business, making and selling things?

What are the legalities in making perishables for market?
across state lines?

What are the legalities for making herbal preparations (_not_ medicinal) for market?
(ie do I need certification? does my kitchen/bathroom? is anyone regulating this at all?)
out of state?

There have to ways to find all this out, but I'm an admitted neophyte in the "real world", so assistance would be grovel-worthy...

Contact your local Small Business Development Center and ask if they can answer your questions. Explain that you need some advice and wouldn't be able to pay for it right now...as you are a student. Check your college for a small business incubator. Also, check with a business prof at your college to see if they might help....

What Faith said... also good resources are your nearby University (state schools have more info than private colleges). We have the extension agency from Mizzou here, and they have a nice little packet pre-made for small businesses - and the local college has a guy _they_ pay to help you start small businesses.
